Time flies when you're throwing up

Updated: Oct 4, 2023

It's been a minute! Our summer was fairly busy. We started off with a trip to Washington to see my step-daughter graduate from highschool. I of course made her a quilt for graduation. She picked the colors and the quilt pattern and I love how it turned out. I told her if she ever decides she doesn't want it she can give it back. She said it's on her bed. That's winning in my book!

We had to hang out a few extra days for my step-son to be out of school so they could come back with us for a visit. In those extra days we visited all 3 Washington National parks.

When we got home I found out I'm pregnant with baby #3! I had a miscarriage in January so we were very excited to find out we were pregnant again. Unlike the miscarriage pregnancy, I have felt AWFUL. Morning sickness in the summer with two small children when you're 38 years old is no walk in the park. Luckily I'm feeling better and was able to start preschool right on time in September without feeling like I want to die every day.

In August I put a quilt in the county fair and actually won a ribbon! And not just the first place ribbon that everyone gets. I was so excited! I started last year putting quilts in the fair to feel more a part of the community, never expecting to win so this was a fun surprise.

I started a youtube channel at the beginning of the year but haven't done much with it. I'm hoping to do more tutorials. Watch for one in October on these cute fabric pumpkins we made at my quilt group. In the meantime here's the link to the free pattern.

Hopefully this fall I can get a few projects finished and be more consistent with the blog/newsletter and updates on fabric in the shop. Hope you all had a fun and safe summer!
